Coastal Florida homeowners are being refused hurricane coverage renewal by State Farm this year. It has been estimated that 7,500 customers in Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte will be dropped by State Farm. Many of these customers will have to resort to the state-run insurer Citizens Property Insurance Corp, though there are other options.

It’s not all bad news though, with State Farm being one of the more expensive insurers, customers could actually end up saving money by making the switch. State Farm joins other insurers Allstate, Nationwide, USAA and Tower Hill who have all reduced coverage to risky customers after the 2004-2005 hurrican seasons, which cost insurers $37 billion. The move may see customers with auto insurance take their business elsewhere.

If you are in this situation you can obtain a 2008 car insurance quote here.

Affordable car insurance in Virginia is easy to achieve with a free online car insurance quote. If you take out comprehensive car insurance your premium is likely to be a little higher.

Virginia state law requires you hold minimum of $25,000 Bodily Injury Liability cover per injured person, up to a total of $50,000 per accident, as well as Property Damage Liability coverage with a minimum limit of $20,000.

In 2005 there was a total of 5,802,772 insured passenger cars in Virginia, this is good news for you because it means there will be a number of car insurance companies competing for your business.

A recent article in insurancejournal.com stated that “Of the 1,700 agencies in Massachusetts, about 900 represent only one car insurance company.” I was shocked.

Insurance brokers have been around for a long time and you’d think by now they’d be a bit clued in as to how they can offer customers the best car insurance quote. 900 car insurance agent’s in just one state doing this adds up to a whole lot of customers that are probably not receiving the most affordable car insurance quote they could be.
